The One Secret That Kept Me Fit for 10 Years
I've maintained my physique through uni, a finance career, moving countries, and building a business. The secret isn't discipline. It's simpler than that.

It's Not Discipline
Everyone thinks staying fit for a decade requires insane discipline. Wake up at 5am, cold showers, meal prep Sunday, never miss a session. That's not how it works in real life.
I've been training consistently for over 10 years. Through university, working in finance in London, moving across countries, building a business. My schedule has changed completely multiple times. But I've never stopped training.
The Real Secret: Make It Non-Negotiable
I don't decide whether to train. That decision was made years ago. Training is like brushing my teeth. I don't wake up and think about whether I'll do it today. I just do it.
That sounds simple because it is. But it's the most powerful shift you can make.
How I Built This
It didn't start as automatic. It started as a commitment to 3 sessions a week, no matter what. Not 5. Not 6. Three. Because three was a number I could hit even on my worst weeks.
Over time, those sessions became part of my identity. Missing a session felt wrong, like leaving the house without my phone. That's when I knew it had stuck.
The Rules That Keep It Going
1. Never miss two days in a row. One day off is fine. Two starts a pattern.
2. Keep sessions short. 45-60 minutes. If it takes 2 hours, you won't do it.
3. Train at the same time. Morning works best for me. Find your time and protect it.
4. Adjust the plan, not the habit. Travelling? Bodyweight workout. Injured? Train around it. Tired? Light session. Just show up.
What 10 Years Looks Like
Year 1-2: Building the habit. This is the hardest part.
Year 3-5: It's automatic. You don't think about it.
Year 5-10: It's who you are. Not something you do.
The compound effect of a decade of consistency is insane. You won't recognise the person you become. But it starts with making the decision once and then never revisiting it.
