Why 10% Body Fat Takes Twice as Long as Everyone Says
Everyone online says you can get to 10% in 12 weeks. That's a lie for most guys. Here's the realistic timeline and why patience is your best strategy.

The 12-Week Lie
Every coach online promises a 12-week transformation to 10% body fat. Some guys can do it. Most can't. And the ones who try to force it end up worse off.
The Real Math
To lose 1kg of fat, you need a deficit of roughly 7,700 calories. At a healthy rate of 0.5-0.75kg per week, that's a 500-750 daily deficit.
If you're starting at 20% body fat at 80kg, you have roughly 16kg of body fat. To get to 10%, you need to lose about 8kg of fat while maintaining muscle.
At 0.5kg per week, that's 16 weeks. At 0.75kg, that's 11 weeks. Sounds doable.
Why It Takes Longer
Fat loss slows down as you get leaner. The leaner you get, the harder your body fights to hold onto remaining fat. Metabolic adaptation, hunger hormones, reduced energy expenditure. All of it conspires against you.
Diet breaks extend the timeline. And you should be taking them. Every 6-8 weeks, 1-2 weeks at maintenance. This adds 4-6 weeks to the total timeline but leads to better results.
Life happens. Holidays, stressful weeks, social events. Nobody runs a perfect cut for 16 weeks straight.
The Realistic Timeline
From 20% to 10%: 5-7 months with diet breaks and real-life factored in.
From 25% to 10%: 7-10 months.
From 15% to 10%: 2-4 months.
Why Patience Wins
Guys who try to do it in 12 weeks crash diet, lose muscle, look flat, and rebound. Guys who take 6 months do it gradually, keep their muscle, look full and lean, and maintain it.
The slow approach always wins. Not because it's comfortable. Because it's the only one that lasts.
