Why Weighted Dips Are The Only Chest Exercise You Need
I ditched bench press as my main chest movement and switched to weighted dips. My chest grew faster than it ever did on the bench. Here's why.

I Stopped Benching
Sounds insane. But hear me out.
I used to bench 3 times a week thinking that was the key to a bigger chest. My shoulders hurt, my chest was flat, and my progress had stalled for months.
Then I started doing weighted dips. Within 12 weeks, my chest filled out more than it had in years of benching.
Why Dips Work Better
The dip puts your chest through a much larger range of motion than a flat bench press. More stretch at the bottom, more contraction at the top. Research shows that training a muscle in a lengthened position produces more growth. Dips do exactly that.
On top of that, dips hit your lower chest, which is what gives you that full, rounded look. Most guys have underdeveloped lower chests because they only do flat and incline pressing.
How to Do Them Right
Lean forward. If you stay upright, it becomes a tricep exercise. A 30-45 degree forward lean shifts the load onto your chest.
Go deep. Get your shoulders below your elbows at the bottom. That stretch is where the growth happens.
Control the descent. 2-3 seconds down, explode up. No bouncing.
Adding Weight
Start with bodyweight until you can do 3 sets of 12 clean reps. Then add a dipping belt with 5kg and build from there.
I currently dip with 40kg+ attached. That kind of loading on the chest is hard to replicate with any other exercise.
The Program
Three exercises. That's your entire chest day. Hit it twice a week and watch what happens.
