How I Finally Mastered Waking Up at 5am (And Won the Morning)
I was the guy who hit snooze 5 times. Then I changed my approach completely and 5am became automatic. Here's the system.

I Used to Be the Snooze Guy
5 alarms. All snoozed. Crawled out of bed at 8, rushed to work, felt behind before the day even started. That was me for years.
Now I wake up at 5am without an alarm most days. Not because I have superhuman discipline. Because I changed the system.
What Actually Works
1. Fix bedtime first. You can't wake up at 5am if you sleep at midnight. I moved my bedtime to 9:30pm. Non-negotiable. The 5am wake-up is a consequence of the early bedtime, not the cause.
2. No screens after 9pm. Blue light kills melatonin production. I leave my phone in another room at 9pm. Read a book or just sit. Within a week, I was falling asleep in 10 minutes instead of 40.
3. Make the first action automatic. When my alarm goes off, I don't think. I stand up and walk to the bathroom. Splash cold water on my face. That's the trigger. Once I'm standing, going back to bed feels harder than staying up.
4. Have something to look forward to. I make a coffee and sit in silence for 20 minutes before doing anything. That quiet time is my reward. If the first thing you do at 5am is something stressful, you'll never want to wake up.
5. Be consistent on weekends. This is the one most people resist. But your body clock can't handle Monday-Friday at 5am and weekends at 10am. I wake up at 5:30 on weekends. Close enough to maintain the rhythm.
Why I Do It
Those 2-3 hours before the world wakes up are the most productive hours of my day. No notifications. No messages. No distractions. I train, plan content, and think clearly. By 8am, I've done more than most people do all morning.
The First 2 Weeks
They're horrible. Your body fights it. You're tired by 3pm. You feel like quitting. Push through it. By week 3, it starts to normalise. By month 2, it's automatic.
The morning sets the tone for everything else.
