Your Self Image Is Sabotaging Your Body (Here's Why)
You know what to do. You just can't make it stick. The problem isn't knowledge or discipline. It's the picture you hold of yourself.

The Invisible Wall
You've read the articles. Watched the videos. You know exactly what to eat, how to train, how much to sleep. So why are you still stuck?
Because your self-image won't let you change.
How Self-Image Works
Your self-image is the mental picture you hold of who you are. "I'm not really an athletic person." "I've always been the soft guy in the group." "I'm not disciplined enough to get in shape."
These aren't facts. They're beliefs. But your subconscious treats them as facts and works to make your reality match them.
The Thermostat Effect
Think of your self-image as a thermostat set to a specific temperature. Every time you push away from that set point, whether up or down, the thermostat kicks in and pulls you back.
Start eating well? You self-sabotage on the weekend. Train for 3 weeks straight? You find an excuse to stop. Get compliments on your progress? You feel uncomfortable and pull back.
It's not random. It's your identity protecting itself.
How to Reset the Thermostat
You can't think your way into a new self-image. You have to act your way into one.
1. Start with tiny actions that prove the new identity. Show up to the gym even for 20 minutes.
2. Stack evidence. Every session is a vote for the person you're becoming.
3. Talk to yourself differently. "I'm someone who trains" instead of "I'm trying to get fit."
4. Change your environment. The people around you reinforce your current self-image.
The Timeline
It takes roughly 60-90 days of consistent action to start shifting your self-image. Not to complete the shift. Just to start it. That's why the first 3 months are the hardest. You're literally reprogramming how you see yourself.
After that, it gets easier. Not because the actions change. Because you change.
